Brand Voice

When defining the brand voice for Mayple, we leaned heavily on the idea of your sphere of influence and how most people hear about new products. Mayple's tone of voice was to feel conversational, casual, and like a friend who is obsessed with a new brand they've discovered and eager to share with you.

Logo Design

The wordmark was designed minimally to avoid competition with the branding of the products they carry, but with just enough personality to stand alone. The modifications to the characters create a recognizable wordmark and reflects the movement of the graphic elements used elsewhere in the branding. The brandmark was modeled after the copyright symbol and was dreamt up as a way to establish a family of brands that meet the Mayple standards.

Typography

Bold headline type is used in our primary typeface to communicate clever messaging that grabs the viewer's attention. Pairing a secondary typeface that balances the premium feel of the brand and readability of the body copy, creates a sense of trust that is crucial to Mayple's curated marketplace.

Graphic Elements

Used to add a personal touch to the identity, the hand-drawn lines and circles used throughout the brand messaging adds emphasis and focus in marketing and a recognizable motif when executed in the brand colors.

Social Design

Ensuring a consistent use of the brand elements, we created 40 social media post and story templates that mixed the use of type, imagery, and animation and ranged in their goals of communicating brand values, introducing Mayple brands, and connecting the desired lifestyle of the Mayple customer.

Website Design

The most important piece to accompany the brand identity was the website design as the business is wholly online. We created a design aesthetic that spoke to the standards of the consumer and the brands Mayple carries as a seamless marketplace that balances good design with even better functionality for a customer experience that is user friendly and encourages a repeat customer.

Summary
After two years of what seemed to be exclusively creating identities for wellness brands, Unspoken Agreement was excited to be approached by Mayple for their branding project. Mayple is the global destination for wellness brands who put efficacy and beautiful design at the forefront of their offerings. Starting from the foundation, we crafted the brand voice to mimic that of your best friend who is obsessed with their latest product discovery - Mayple is someone you trust to be in-the-know on all things sustainable beauty, homecare, nutrition and beyond.
We paired this playful messaging with a clean visual identity that could serve to house many different products that kept enough unique elements to tell compelling stories and offer a variety of visual treatments when doing so. We followed up the identity with pre-launch and ecommerce web design, art direction and social media to ensure the brand was executed consistently through all channels.
